Spongeware
Speckled oatmeal colored glaze with medium blue
decoration applied using a natural sponge. |
 |
Gray Over Black
This is a unique combination of glazes. A gray glaze is applied over a
red/brown, breaking to black, glaze with a hot wax design in between.
|
 |
Teal
Smooth green finish with a hint of blue. A black or brown stain may be used
to decorate this glaze. This pattern is reminiscent of the southwest. |
 |
Blue Ash
This striking blue glaze was first used by Chinese potters over two thousand years
ago. When combined with an iron brown under glaze and wax pattern, this glaze produces
an opalescent texture that refracts blue light.
|
 |
Blue Ash Over Tenmoku
Same glaze qualities as above but applied over
an iron rich under-glaze with a wax resist
bamboo pattern and dark rim band.
|
 |
|
Tenmoku
A deep and rich iron glaze, black in color
with
reddish brown highlights.

All my stoneware pottery is made from natural,
food safe,
non-toxic materials. The course-grain stoneware clay body
I use is extremely durable. Items can be used in both
convection and microwave ovens and later .
cleaned in a dishwasher
Baking tip:
Do not pre-heat your oven when using stoneware pottery
for baking. This will permit the food and pottery
to heat up more evenly, prevent stress cracks
from forming, and increase the life
of your stoneware.
Since each piece of pottery is made and glazed
by hand,
you will notice some variation among the individual pieces.
Differences also occur between one firing and another.
These variations add character and personality
to each pot and remind us of a better time....a
time when life's treasures were not mass
produced by machines!
